Course Description

There is a critical need to train and equip nurse educators with the skills to educate and retain staff to ensure high-quality resident care effectively. This intensive two-day, 10-hour train-the-trainer course addresses this need by providing nurse educators in LTC with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.

The course covers key modules, including the role of the nurse educator, adult learning principles, curriculum planning, instructional design and delivery, evaluation and assessment, clinical skills training, fostering staff retention, infection prevention and control compliance, and effective communication and teamwork.

Participants will learn to outline the responsibilities and expectations of a nurse educator, apply adult learning theories, create comprehensive lesson plans, and design effective orientation programs. The course emphasizes practical, interactive teaching methods and evidence-based evaluation tools to enhance learning outcomes and staff retention. By the end of the course, participants will be well-prepared to implement effective training programs, measure their impact on patient care quality, and foster a positive learning environment in long-term care facilities.
