Dr. Sylvia Abbeyquaye is the esteemed author of The Talent Retention Code. Hailing from Ghana, she brings with her over two decades of professional nursing experience and exceptional, multifaceted expertise in the healthcare industry.

Presently serving as the CEO and founder of NSDxpert Education and Consultancy LLC, Dr. Abbeyquaye is a dedicated educator and an Adjunct Professor at Endicott College. She enlightens her students with her profound knowledge and insightful understanding of nursing and healthcare management.

From a young age, Sylvia had a fervent desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Helping people cope with their physical and emotional challenges brought her immense satisfaction. This passion led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, followed by a Ph.D. in Nursing from UMASS-Amherst in the United States.

Dr. Abbeyquaye’s journey in the healthcare field saw her transition from a certified nurse assistant to Director of Nursing, where she honed her skills and deepened her commitment to improving patient care. Her work with the Virginia Long-Term Care Infrastructure Pilot Projects (VLIPP) and her innovative transition-to-practice program for new graduate and migrant nurses have revolutionized staff retention and training in long-term care facilities across the United States.

Inspired by her experiences and driven by her mission to support and educate the next generation of nurses, Sylvia authored Navigating Long-term Care: A Practical Approach for Nurses and its reflective workbook, both acclaimed by the American Association of Nurses—MA chapter. Her latest endeavor, The Talent Retention Code, introduces a transformative framework for staff retention grounded in her community integration model.

In addition to her written works, Dr. Abbeyquaye is developing mynursepal, a mobile application designed to enhance time management and work processes for long-term care staff.
