Our Founder

Dr. Sylvia Abbeyquaye, the visionary founder and CEO of NSDxpert Education and Consultancy Services LLC, has dedicated over two decades to transforming the landscape of long-term care (LTC) facilities worldwide. With a rich tapestry of experience spanning various healthcare roles, Dr. Abbeyquaye brings a unique blend of expertise as a nurse educator, registered nurse, infection preventionist, and entrepreneur to her mission.

Dr. Abbeyquaye’s journey began in Ghana, where she laid the foundation for her career with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Science and Technology. Upon immigrating to the United States, her pursuit of knowledge led her to earn a Master’s in Public Administration from Clark University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMASS-Amherst. Her academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in nursing from the same institution.

Driven by a passion for teaching, mentoring, and advocating for long-term care staff development and retention, Dr. Abbeyquaye authored “Navigating Long-term Care: A Practical Approach for Nurses” and its accompanying reflective workbook, empowering nurses worldwide with practical insights. Her upcoming book, “The Talent Retention Code,” promises innovative strategies tailored to the unique challenges of the LTC industry, slated for release in May 2024.

Inspired by a pivotal event during her tenure as Director of Nursing, where she spearheaded transformative initiatives resulting in a significant increase in staff retention rates and quality of care, Dr. Abbeyquaye founded NSDxpert. Her commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture centered on support, collaboration, and professional development has propelled NSDxpert to the forefront of LTC consultancy services.

Through NSDxpert’s comprehensive range of services, including consultations, training programs, continuing education, resource development, staff retreats, conferences, and keynote speeches, Dr. Abbeyquaye continues to champion the cause of staff retention and quality care delivery in LTC facilities worldwide. With a focus on evidence-based practices, customization, and innovation, NSDxpert stands as a beacon of excellence, empowering healthcare professionals to excel and ensuring the well-being of LTC residents globally.

The Origins Of NSDxpert

NSDxpert Education and Consultancy Services LLC has its roots in a critical juncture during Dr. Sylvia Abbeyquaye’s tenure as a Director of Nursing. A tragic incident underscored systemic gaps in staff knowledge and care practices, prompting Dr. Abbeyquaye to take decisive action. Through the implementation of mandatory training sessions and the introduction of a new onboarding and training program, Dr. Abbeyquaye sought to address these deficiencies and elevate the standard of care provided to residents.

The impact of these initiatives was profound, leading to notable improvements in staff competency, confidence, and ultimately, the quality of care delivered. Notably, staff retention rates surged, exceeding 50%, and the facility achieved its best Department of Public Health survey results in record time.

Motivated by this success, Dr. Abbeyquaye envisioned a broader mission to revolutionize staff retention and quality care delivery in long-term care facilities worldwide. Drawing on principles of evidence-based practices and community integration, she laid the foundation for NSDxpert with a commitment to innovation and excellence.

Since its inception, NSDxpert has remained dedicated to empowering long-term care facilities through comprehensive services, including consultations, training programs, continuing education, resource development, and staff engagement initiatives.
